GEOLENS

Terms of Use

Last updated: October 2026

Acceptance

By accessing or using GeoLens (geolens.eu), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the site. We may update these terms at any time; continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.

The service

GeoLens is a public platform for building and sharing charts, maps and posts from world macroeconomic and development data. It aggregates data from third-party public sources (World Bank, IMF and Climate Watch); the data and anything built from it are provided for informational and research purposes only.

Data and disclaimers

  • No warranty. All data is provided "as is," sourced from third-party public databases. GeoLens makes no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or fitness for any purpose of the data displayed.
  • Not financial or investment advice. Nothing on GeoLens constitutes financial, investment, legal, or professional advice. Do not make financial or business decisions based solely on data shown here.
  • No guarantee of availability. We aim for continuous availability but do not guarantee uptime. The service may be interrupted for maintenance or other reasons without notice.

Acceptable use

You may use GeoLens for personal, research, and commercial information-gathering purposes. You may not:

  • No disruptive scraping. Attempt to scrape or bulk-download data in a way that disrupts the service for other users.
  • No unlawful content. Use the service to transmit unlawful, harmful, or deceptive content.
  • No unauthorised access. Attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems, or data.
  • No reverse-engineering. Reverse-engineer or reproduce the GeoLens application in a competing product without permission.

Account responsibilities

Keep your credentials safe. If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us at hello@geolens.eu if you believe your account has been compromised.

Your content is your responsibility. Content you create (charts, posts, saved analysis) must be your own work or properly attributed, and must not violate third-party intellectual property or applicable law. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms.

Subscriptions and payment

Free is the whole product's data. Every indicator, every source and the full history are free, with or without an account. There are two paid subscriptions for what GeoLens makes, and what each costs is stated on Pricing.

  • PLUS covers commercial use, with the GeoLens logo on it. What you make on PLUS may go into paid work of your own, as long as the GeoLens logo stays on it. PLUS adds your own data and images, sharper exports, every look and font pair and more saved work.
  • PRO is the business plan, for one person. It removes the GeoLens logo, puts your logo, colours and fonts in place of ours, and covers client and white-label work, which PLUS does not.
  • Support. Free is supported through the help pages and PLUS by email. PRO email is answered first, within 2 working days.
  • The price you see is the price you pay, VAT included. Checkout shows that amount for the period you picked, monthly or yearly, and it does not grow at checkout: the VAT inside it is worked out from the billing address you give there, and a business can enter its VAT number there too.
  • It renews until you stop it. A subscription renews at the end of each period and charges the payment method on file. You can cancel at any time from Manage billing on your account page; your plan then runs to the end of the period already paid for and does not renew.
  • Payments are handled by Stripe. Payment details never reach GeoLens. Receipts and invoices come from Stripe by email, and your billing history is in the same portal you cancel from.
  • If a renewal fails, you keep your plan for seven days while the payment is retried and we email you a link to fix it. If it is not fixed, the plan ends; nothing you made is deleted.

Refunds and cancellation

  • Fourteen days, no questions. Within 14 days of your first payment you can withdraw and get that payment back in full. Write to hello@geolens.eu from the account's address and we refund to the payment method that paid, normally within 5 working days. This is the EU right of withdrawal for consumers, offered to every subscriber; by subscribing you agree that your plan starts immediately, and the refund is how the right is honoured rather than a reason to withhold the service.
  • Renewals are not refunded, except where the law where you live requires it or where something on our side went wrong. Cancel before a renewal and there is nothing to refund: you keep what you paid for to the end of the period.
  • Deleting your account cancels the subscription at once, with no refund for the rest of the period already paid (the 14 days above still apply). Stripe deletes your customer record and saved payment method, and keeps the billing records tax law requires.
  • Stopping paying deletes nothing. Published work goes back to carrying the GeoLens credit and everything else stays as it is, readable and editable, up to the free plan's limit on adding more. Subscribe again and your design returns as you left it.

Intellectual property

The product is protected. The GeoLens application, design, and original content are protected by copyright. The underlying data is sourced from third-party open datasets and remains subject to those sources' own licensing terms (see About for source details).

Your exports are yours. Charts, posts and images you build and export from GeoLens belong to you. On Free you may use them for personal, non-commercial purposes. On PLUS you may also use them commercially, such as in paid publications, products you sell or work for an employer, with the GeoLens logo kept on them. Removing the logo, client work and white-label work require PRO. No further attribution to GeoLens is required beyond what the export itself carries.

The data keeps its source's licence. World Bank data (WDI) and Climate Watch data are CC BY 4.0: they may be reused, commercially too, with credit to the source, which the source line printed on every export gives, so keep it intact. IMF data needs the IMF's own permission for commercial reuse; see the IMF's copyright and usage terms.

Your featured work. If GeoLens features a chart or post you made in its public gallery or examples, you grant GeoLens a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and distribute that content on the platform.

Limitation of liability

Use the data at your own judgment. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, GeoLens and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of or reliance on the service or the data it displays.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Poland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Poland. If you are a consumer in the EU, this does not take away protections the law of your own country gives you, and you may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
